HELP!!! Gears...
Ok the guy I am getting my gears done by was referred to me by several different people as being good. Well I am starting to wonder. He says that the ring and pinion that I received from Northridge is incorrect. I feel fairly comfortable they are not. Can anyone help with this? The Superior box says D44488RJK on them and that is it. I have a 2007 JK "X" model with the 3.21's. I know for a fact that I have a Dana 44 in the rear and Dana 30 in the front. I did pick up the new carrier for the front. He says that the pinion gear for the rear that is in there now is approximately 8 1/2" while the new one is 7 1/2 and isn't long enough to come out of the housing?? (or something to that matter).

As far as what is written on the box it is correct though, right? They just may have packaged wrong at Superior?
I figured it out...I have two front sets of gears. I went on the Superior website and looked at part numbers and I have the right Dana 30 gear for the front but the reaf is for a Dana 44 front. This blows!!!
Yeah, I know that now. This really sucks. I will have to wait and get a RA to send them back and wait on the new ones to come all the while not having my Jeep. The front set is in and the rear is tore down waiting to be put in. :( Thanks for the reply.
I got things mis-boxed too. I made sure they had the gears in hand before dropping it off. They did the front diff and everything was fine. They pulled the rear apart and when the went to install the new rear gears discovered that they had been sent two sets of front gears. The box was clearly marked rear too.
So the company had one more set of rear gears in stock (this was when gears were in super short supply) and they agreed to overnight them. But the idiot in the shipping room sent them std ground. The shop reinstalled the stock rear gears and we waited a week for the only set of rear 5.13's in the country slowly worked their way across county. I felt dumb having 5.13's inthe front and 4.10's in the back. But a week later all was well.
