Default HELP I cant get rid of DW

Ive gone over every bushing set my lower control arms to 23 and torqued all the bolts and i still am getting death wobble. My only question now is can the upper shock bushing cuase death wobble if it is not compressed correctly? I recently put on the RC 2.2 shocks and i tighted them as much as it would allow me to. Im wondering if the bushing are bad or cheap and not allowing me to compress them all the way in turn allowing the axle to bounce around causing DW??????? its just a thought...what do you guys think?

Agree with DirtMan , without knowing your set up or when it occurs while on the road , it is hard to give advise or where to start looking . In general with the enginge running have someone turn the steeringwheel back and forth slowly thru full cycle while you watch the steering and the bushing, look for any movment . Look at how your tierods and drag linik are moving in coordination with eachother , any trackbar movment .

There is a video and I can't rember if it is here or on another board that clearly shows what to look for in the steering geometry cycle (trackbar movement . Tierods and draglink cycling)

Make sure your front track bar bolts are torqued to 125 ft lbs. This is the most common cause. Also check the whole front end out in general, litterally every bolt on the suspension, axle, and wheels for looseness and damage.

This is the best write up I have found.....

if you follow Planmans thread, you will find it. the shock bushings wont cause it. i recently had a bout with DW and it turned out that my torque wrench wasnt accurate. i suggest loosening the track bar, shaking and bouncing the front end, and then torquing it tighter than what your wrench says is 125ft/lbs. what front track bar are you running?

i have the stock front track bar....looks okay used a pry bar on it and nothing moved. I have the 4 inch rc lift that came with the upgraded front track bar bracket.

and my torque wrench is only 4 months old and has never been dropped and always stored in the case at it lowest setting.....

Ill go over all the bolts again tomorrow just for piece of mind.

Remove both of the bolts that hold your track bar, as well as the track bar. Look at the bolt holes on each side of both of the track bar brackets. This is the only way to properly determine if the bolt holes are out of round. If they are, the holes will look oblong. If the holes are oblonged, you will need to have a grade 8 washer welded on both sides if the bracket to keep the bolt from moving. I had this problem with my 07 with a 4" lift. I had to weld washers on both sides of both of the mounting brackets. Before I welded the washers, I tightened the he'll out of those bolts and they still moved around when I hit bumps.

X2 thats the whole reason i threw that bracket in the garbage and went with an adjustable track bar instead of the bracket, and also went back to a sock pitman. i have never had a problem with my set up
