Default help with lift choice?

New member here

Just picked up a jku 2012 two weeks a go.I have not had a jeep since high school but spent my younger days off roading in the old 81cj and 5 years with the. Marine corp pounding on hummers and beating up our lil toyota trucks in the desert.

Any way I ripped out the sound system replaced with subs amps ect...have new black rock wheels and 35s showing up this weekend but I need a lift?

Money is not a major issue but I dont want to just throw it away either..I was all set to order the aev 2.5 kit but the more I read here the more unsure I get? Now im thinking of just a quick budget boost until I really figure out whats best for me.This jeep isnt my daily driver but its not ever going to be a toy rock crawler either..mostly hunting, fishing, beach and dunes and some overland desert vehicle in eastern washington. But not to say I wont get a wild hair and try some crazy shit part of the reason I picked up the gym is beating up my chevy durmax which is a beast off road plain stock but way to nice to beat up anymore.

So what do I do guys? Whats a solid 2.5 to 3 inch lift that will allow great ride but tough enough to hold up off road with moderate trails...they all sound great on paper.

Thanks
Love this forum this jeep is going to cost me some $$$ lol

Welcome and prepare to Just Empty Every Pocket

There will be as many opinions as there are lift manufacturers.

Personally I like the stuff from TeraFlex. They have fantastic customer support should you have a question or run into any issues.

I would run just enough lift to clear the tires. But sky is the limit when it comes to lifts. The bigger the lift the more money you will have to invest. You want to do this right otherwise your ride will suffer.

I'd say BDS but that's because I have it. Has a lifetime warranty so nothing really to worry about. It was either that or Teraflex which I hear and see is top of the line...

It really comes down to how much you want to spend. From what you are saying, the 2.5" Teraflex might be a good choice. It will net closer to 3" and do well on and off road

I have the OME LT kit from Northridge 4x4....which is located in Silverdale, WA if you haven't been there already. It's a pretty complete kit, gave me about 3+ inches and performs well on / off road.

If you're ever down in Seattle, you're welcome to give my suspension set up a look / ride.

Stock ...and Teraflex 2.5 coil suspension lift, extra Teraflex 1" spacer up front, 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers. Couldn't be happier.
