Help with Line-X prep
i've been getting the rubi ready for the trip to line-x of baltimore, but i've come across a few snags. most of it has to do with the airbag system. i haven't unplugged any harnesses as of yet because i don't want any issues. i know the battery needs to be disconnected for at least 2 mins b4 messing with that system at all, but what about if it has to be driven with the harnesses disconnected? the harnesses i'm talking about are the ones at the seat belt tensioners, the 2 that go into the airbag sensor box, and the one that goes into the little black box on the floor where the e-brake cables go thru the tub (don't think this one is airbag related).
i know this is a popular mod and a lot of people have prepped themselves, so i really hope someone can help me. i want to get this in to line-x asap. tia for any info

You should not have to disconect anything, or at least I didn't. The shop will either spray over the wire harnesses or they will tape them up to avoid getting any Line-x on them. Either way, as long as you have all but the drivers seat removed you should be good.
I disconnected all of them without disconnecting the battery. I did have the airbag light on when I drove it to line-x. When I got it home, I connected everything back up and all lights were out. I was going to disconnect the battery to reset the computer but never did. Lazy !!!!!
You should be fine by disconnecting the battery..
Dont mess with the little black box wires !!! No need too. Just pull all the other wire bundles away from the tube so line-x can wrap them and hoist them out of the way and spray around them.

thanks for the replies. i know it shouldn't be necessary to unplug everything, but i'd really like to remove EVERYTHING from the center console area and have them spray the entire floor. i'm going to remove the bare steel console sub-frame to clean and paint it due to the rust it's accumulated. i figure it'd be nice to paint that while the jeep's getting lined. plus it'd open up the center area so it can get sprayed too.
what's the deal with the little black box? what does it do?
here are some pics to show what i'm talking about.
You can see the rust starting on the bare steel frame (NOTE: there is grey dust all over the place from finish-grinding the last bits of the caulk on the floorboards. this tends to make it look less rusty)

here is the bigger box with the airbag harnesses going to it

and here are 2 pics of the little mystery box
