You need wheel spacers or a wheel with 3" bs if you are going to run that low a lift. I have nearly the same set up. 4" of lift, full float 8 lug dana 60 front with 40x13.5 R17 Mtr/k with rock monster wheels 4.5" bs. On road i have clearance and just kiss the frame sometimes when off road on the driver side. I run 1.5" wheel spacers with it. With out the spacers I would hit the lower control arms and rub the frame hard.

I have seen people run 40's on stock axles but they have to run 6" of lift and bump stop the hell out of it and limit the steering and run a low bs wheel.

Start with an adjustable trackbar before you mess with the axel.
