Default Help with MBRP Spare Reinforcing Bracket

I finally got the brackets in the mail!

So the factory spare mount came off easly, the problem is getting the factory nuts to break off. The instructions say to use the supplied bolts to wiggle the nuts up and down and they will easily break off, then reach in and unscrew the nut....

Has anyone had problems with this? I feel like im trying to flip jeep via the tailgate! They won't budge. Are there any tricks to doing this?

nope just use a little muscle you're not gonna break the Jeep, but BEWARE! I used stronger hardware after of the supplied ones sheared off and had to be drilled out.

thanx. I thought it would be a little more simple than it is. You have to be rough (my opinion) trying to break the spot welds. they seem to be on there well. This will be a project for a little warmer weather. -- also, there is a support piece in the tail gate that I can barely reach past, and that's with the spare mount off. I'm not really sure if I can reach back there with the spare mount on - which would make the bracket useless since I wouldn"t be able to bolt it in.

When it warms up I'll be more rough with it, and I'll have more time. My spare should be fine for a month or two. When I read it, it sounded much easier than it really is.. that'll happen I guess

I broke of the supplied bolts really quick. Got frustrated but was too lazy to go buy new bolts so I used a large hex wrench. Careful if you use a wrench though. Hold the nut as its about to break off cuz they will fall into the tailgate... ask me how I know..

I used a rubber mallet to stike the bolt down, then up, then left, then right, and continued that until the spot welds broke. After a while, the bolt does start to bend, but I got the job done with the two supplied bolts, barely.
