Default Help Me Choose Some Shocks

Hey guys, i searched high and low for a thread about shocks.. but couldn't get anything specific without having to sift through 16-24 pages of 35's.

I ended up getting a Rock Krawler 2.5" coil lift and i want to get shocks for it sometime soon. What is the best shock out there that won't break the bank, but will still ride great and perform offroad well?

I'm mostly considering the skyjacker softride shocks, maybe trailmaster vss, or some others.. i don't really know my shocks so give me a hand finding something good!

Bilstein 5100's are probably the best out there that wont break the bank, might as well buy the Bilstein steering stabilizer too while you're at it. Most dont have anything good to say about Skyjacker period so you may want to avoid them, personally I have no experience with their lifts/shocks etc.

I love my OME shocks I had the yellows and then up graded to the LT's. The ride is the best you will find IMO.

If you do decide to go with the LT's youd will need brake relocation brackets or new brake lines. Also if you have an automatic trans you will need an after market drive shaft.

Bilstein is the only way to go.

I got the OME LT shocks and they are a sweet ride. I would say night and day difference then stock. I got an auto and my drive shaft looks just fine on normal roads.

How much have you guys seen them selling for?
And what is their warranty?

I can get them here from a Canadian distributor for about $90 CDN per shock which to me is an excellent price. 4wd.com (Bustabizz on this forum) has them for $83.99 US, David at Northridge 4x4 has them as well, although i'm not sure what his price is like normally his prices are quite competitive so give him a shout as well. As far as I know most of if not all of Bilsteins stuff is backed by a lifetime warranty.
