help me decide on tire size
I just ordered the 2,5 coil kit from tertaflex. I was thinking of going with 35x12.50 18 federals. Now I'm wondering what would be a better choice 33 or 35
What tranny and gearing do you have? 2 or 4 door? Any other heavy mods on your Jeep like steel bumpers or a winch? Those are important things to consider when making a decision as to what tire size, but as a lot of people here will tell you, if you want 35's, dont waste your time with 33's, you will regret not getting what you really want. If you have a manual transmission, you will have a little bit better time with 35's and 3.73 or 3.21 gearing.
The 35 vs 33 debate....Many things come into factor in the tire size decision that other owners including myself thought about when going with 33's vs 35's. It's not all about looks...but function and upgrade costs. Just a few factors that you should keep in mind going with a larger/heavier 35 vs 33's: larger upgrade costs, wear & tear (ball joints, driveshaft, brakes), poorer fuel mileage, loss of power & torque.
These factors will come into play with 35's
6spd vs Auto & your factory Gearing (3:21's vs 3:73 vs 4:10's)
if you feel it has poor performance with 35's you will have a cost of upgrading to 4:88 or 5:13's gearing.
Front D30 vs Front D44 - With 35's you will want to add C-gussets another added cost.
Transfer Case 2.73:1 vs 4:1. With the larger 35's and if you have a 2.73:1 transfer Case your 4LO and 1st gear will not be so low anymore for steeper hills.
Tire Weight- probably looking at about 10-15lbs/tire difference which will play with your MPG and power/torque to push that heavier and bigger tire.
I went with 33's for my first set and have been very pleased with the off-road and on-road performance and have been slowly building up my rig to run 35's.

First off some of you guys are straight dickheads.... And no my profile isn't filled out because I do not have internet service avaliable at my house. But for any one who is interested in giving me advice... I have a 08 2dr auto 3.8 I know nothing about jeeps of liftkits and stuff all we fool with is horsepower. But for the assholes that have a problem with my 25 post, fuc@ you because this is for my wife and I want her safe. Also I have been getting on this site when I'm in town and have service on my phone
