Not much inside that bumper to mod, just a skinny piece of sheetmetal. You can fix it easily enough or just put a shout out in the wanted forum. People are always giving those away. I'd let you have mine but I'm in Cali and I did the same dent as you did. I have seen elsewhere mods where they just weld on a piece of 4" channel. Just a thought.

I say get a bumper with a spare carrier that can hold the largest tire you'll ever think you'll get. So far I've found that the Smittybilt XRC is the least expensive bumper (I paid $710) out there that looks great and can hold a 40" tire. The next one I found was well over $1,000.

Take the opportunity (and/or excuse) and get the new bumper you want...

Thanks for the input, I have decided I'm going to do a combination of things. Although I want a new bumper, I'm spending that money on a CB, on-board air and rock lights. In the meantime I'm going to rock the crushed bumper but I'm going to remove it and pop out the dent. While I'm at it, I'm going to look at modding the rear bumper to accommodate a mount for my hi lift extreme as a temporary solution. I'll post a write up when I get it done.
