Yes, I know, yet another winch thread. I have a couple hundred bucks in Amazon ecertificates that I would like to apply towards a winch for my RR XHD bumper. My other stipulation is that I would like to keep the price under $400 so the wife doesn't go ballistic. Plus you cannot beat buying through Amazon considering free shipping if it's sourced from Amazon and no sales tax. So, my choices that I've found thus far are:

Smittybilt XRC10 - $362 free shipping and readily available
Superwinch LP10000 - $370 free shipping, BUT ships in 4 - 6 weeks

Which would you go with (Besides telling me 'go with a Warn' )? Should I be patient and wait on the Superwinch to become available? Are there any other models that might fit my criteria that I didn't catch perhaps?

Ready to pull the trigger so I can move on to saving up for a suspension lift

I personally would go with the superwinch. Knowing the superwinch quality standard and hearing of smittybuilt problems Makes this an easy choice for me.

 

My Dad has had his superwinch for over 20yrs with no problems, but its rarely been used. I have a smittybilt and havent used it yet. I read a review on it though by a guy who works on all major winches. He thought it is a good winch for the price.

 

Be patient and go with the superwinch. You will have peace off mind knowing it's going to work when you need it most.

There as another thread on here with a link to a magazine's winch test. Warn won, who would have guessed? Superwinch came in a strong second, and many other winches filed to finish the challenge. The writer was very impressed with its performance for the money.

 

Check winchdepot.com out before you buy. Their prices and shipping are usually the best around.

I'm gonna stray from the group here and say go with the XRC10. I have one and it works well so far for me. I got mine used for $300 so the price was very good. I know its not apples to apples, but I have a Superwinch on my ATV and it broke the first time I tried to use it.

 

Fortunately, the Superwinch LP10000 just became available again on Amazon this evening and the trigger is officially pulled Thanks to everyone that replied.

 

Superwinch is awesome. I picked up an EPi9.0 from Amazon when it was on sale for $399/free ship.

Went with them because of the winch comparison above, and the low amp draw.
