Default help me make up my mind

I am thinking about a leveling kit. I have read alot of post on the kits and still cant decide. My jeep is an o7 unlimited and mostly used as a daily driver. I use my flatty to play with. I would like to get rid of the rake and put 265s on my jeep. I do put my boat in some private lakes that often have little more than a trail to them if anything at all. I have the factory 16 inch tech spoke wheels that i want to keep . My problem is i do not want to use wheel spacers. I know tera flex, daystar and rock carwler all make level kits. Will this set up work with out spacers or do i need to just leave well enough alone. Thanks for your help.

so long as you are just installing a leveling kit and not a budget boost, you will not need to run wheel spacers. a lot of the budget boost kits come with longer rear sway bar links and they require wheels spacers or new wheels with less back spacing as the link ends will come into contact with your tire/wheel with out them. needless to say, all of the leveling kit mentioned should work just fine.

well, it's hard to go wrong with any of these kits as they are essentially coil spacers and that's it. however, i think you will find it hard to go wrong with teraflex. at least, many of the members here run their products and swear by them.

thanks for your feedback. I think ill give the tera flex a try. I just wanted to ask because i saw on the tera flex website that you may need wheel spacers with the leveling kit.

that teraflex leveling kit should have everything you need to get going for only $130. Sometimes I wonder if I should have bought that kit, chopped my fenders and popped on some 35s and been done? low and cheap. lol. I love my lift tho.

Hey WOL - like the OP, I have wanted to go to bigger tires (33's, or more specifically P275/70R18 Duratracs) on Stock Sahara 18" wheels. On all my searching the posts, it appears that most folks that were unlifted still had to go with 1.5" spacers. Seemed to be rubbing for those that tried it without spacers - - that said, I like your answer better!

I am probably gonna go with the Teraflex leveling kit and would LOVE to avoid $200 in spacer expense.

Can you explain if I read your post incorrectly or if I am thinking about this wrong?

Thanks!

Hi, I have a 2dr X, running 265 BFG's right now..no rub...no spacers either.
I purchased the teraflex levelling kit a couple weeks ago, yet to get time to install it...but from a few pointed questions back and forth to a teraflex tech I was informed that I wont need to use any other backspacing , as this setup would be fine...as I said its not insatlled yet, but I can keep you posted if this mod isnt going to be within a few days for you.

I have 33's with no lift. 285/75 R16. I didn't have any rubbing problems on the street at all. I did get some rubbing on the fenders off road though. I chopped my fenders and the problem is solved.
