Default Help me pick a locker

09 jku

4.88 yukon gears with stock 35. Up front and 44 in rear

I daily drive this vehicle so I want to be able to only lock up when needed...

A few questions ...I honestly don't know much about lockers:

If I went with arb could I use a viar tank and how would that work?

My understanding is as long as I don't keep my 35 locked up when not needed I should be okay. Should I be worried about having lockers in a Dana 35?

I know a lot recommend the ARB but what about the yukon zip locker?

If your not a rock crawler. I would look at detroit trutrac front and rear. Very good snow and mud traction, no switches to flip, working all the time.

Default Hlep me pick a locker

It really depends on what you want to do with your Jeep and how much you want to spend. I have an ARB in the back and stock up front. Plan on changeing that later. I like the flexibility of selecting my traction when needed. If your only gonna do moderate wheeling and very minimal rock crawlin, then I agree with Gundude and way cheaper than selectable regardless of type, otherwise think on it a little longer.
Good luck either way.

I'd rather them not work all the time though. But I will look

No problem. We are also running a special for this month. If you purchase one ARB air locker we will give you CKSA12 for free and with two ARB air lockers we will give you CKMA12 for free.

Those are the ARB Air Compressors. E-mail us or PM us for quotes.

ARB is nice but for a selectable in a d35 up front the Eaton elocker has a 4 pin design and is super reliable. No extra stuff needed just wire it up (simple) and be done with it.
If you live in a snowy area I'd advise a selectable in rear as well but if you wanted a Detroit trutrac in rear is a helvetical gear LSD setup and works amazing (in snow/sand/mud) without tearing up tires, it won't lock up completely like a locker will but will retain good street manners for everyday driving and be a huge improvement over open. No wiring or air and no issues they just work.......then if you needed the extra push of the front flip the switch for the e-locker....

If your not on the rocks and crawling the big nasty stuff and more backwoods, camping, hunting, exploring etc then I'd recommend truetrc rear e-locker front.

I run Detroit rear and ARB front but I run the rocks and a elocker for the d44 sucks but its a better design for the front d35.

Default lockers

ARB or Eton E-locker you wont be unhappy with a selectable locker, all automatic lockers have some kind of a drawback.

I am putting in a Detroit tru trac in the rear for the on road handling, and a Detroit auto locker up front. I'll let ya know what I think in next couple weeks. Dynatrac recommended this set up based off of my driving style etc
