Default Help me understand gears and ratio's

I have a 2010 sport 2dr w/ auto trans. It came with the steel wheels. Am I correct in assuming that I have a 3.21 gear ratio? Also I will be running 33's for the rest of its life. Safe to assume regearing is a good idea? From the chart on here I think I should run 4.88? Thanks for the help.

Your automatic came from the factory with 3.73 gears.

Have you had it since new?

JK owners with automatics normally run a deeper gear than manual transmissions. Because they are geared differently and run at different RPM's especially at highway speeds. I know with 35's, its seems that there are quite a bit of auto's running 513's and they are very happy. I would think that 488's would be a good choice for 33's. You will notice a huge power increase over your stock gearing. If you are looking for a slight fuel mileage increase over 488's then you might get that with 456's. And the power will still be good just not as snappy off the line.

I have 4.10 on 32's. Adequate, but not great. I would agree with Surf City Dan's post.
