Exclamation Help, my TruTrac does not fit!

Help, Jeeps been on Jack Stands for 2 weeks, need to finish ASAP.

I’m regearing my 07 non rubi D44 to 5.13's in the driveway and thought it would be great time to add a LSD while everything is out. So I ordered a Trutrac from 4wd.com and after waiting 2 weeks for it to ship, I got them to ship it 2 day so I could get it done this weekend.

Part number I got was EAT913A590

This does not fit my housing. The ring gear is mounted about 1cm to the midline compared to the stock open carrier. I think they sent a one for TJ D44 but have spent a lot of time on the phone with them and we can't figure it out. They think Eaton does not make one, but people here are running them, so I know they do.

Please help out, or I will be working in a foot of snow soon. A part number would be helpful to if you got it.

Thanks so much.

EAT913A590
* 76-86 Jeep CJ-7
* 81-85 Jeep CJ-8
* 97-06 Jeep Wrangler (TJ)
* 87-95 Jeep Wrangler (YJ)
* 04-06 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (TJ)

EAT913A589
* Axle: Dana 44 | Dana 44 Jk
(this is from 4WP's website. Quadra shows that both the 89 and 90 models are used in all of the non-jk axles)

Guessing that Quadra should have sent the x89 model, but call Eaton and verify?

Yes, I have seen this. http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=11975

It is listed as Gear ratio 2.73 to 3.73, is this wrong?

Major suckage when the wrong part is sent, especially when you got everything torn down and then realize it. I hate it when that happens, makes you wanna rip an arm off and beat someone with it.

Oh, I did call Eaton before I ordered from 4WD and they did not sound really sure but gave me the part number that I was sold.

Trust me, I have done a whole lot of leg work on this, but failed none the less.

I will call 4wd first thing in the AM, I would really like to have a part number of someone that has it in their JK so I am not disappointed again.

Could it be that you need to drill out the holes?

Thanks, but the holes are fine, the flat surface that the ring gear sits against in this unit is too close to the midline. Thus the ring gear is too close to the center and hits the pinion rather than sliding in next to it.

Drilling won't fix this, Machining a whole lot out of the surface might, but getting the right part number is a whole lot easier on my end.

You definately need a 3.73 and down carrier for a rear JK D44.
I'm sorry guys...I'm not sure how those numbers were found, you need part number 913A312 for Dana44 3.73 and down 30 spline. Sucks to be in this situation, but I would return it and request that part number.

I searched the numbers...can't understand why the discrepency in part numbers. But if they are using different numbers now, than it would appear that you need the xxx89 one as it is 3.73 down.
