HELP NEEDED!! 2012 JK after 35"s
Hi,
I have a 2012 Sahara automatic..
I installed a TERAFLEX lift and 35" tires.. I got the GIBSON exhaust and the RIPP 2012 intake..
Here comes the problem, my speedometer is off by around 10 km/h (which i should sort out by getting a proCAL), but the main concern is that the shifting points are way off.. for example, under full throttle (while the car is supposed to shift from 3rd to 4th), it nearly hit the 7,000 rpm mark before shifting up.. and under normal throttle you can feel that the car is shifting way after its supposed to..
Will calibrating the right tire size help fix the shifting problem?
I am not re-gearing anytime soon, and i feel the car drives well (yes, a bit heavier with new wheels and tires) but i only want to fix the shifting points back to normal..
What should i do??
Thanks in advance..

The only way to get back your shifting back to normal is to get the Procal. Calibrating the speedometer with the Procal will fix the issue you are having. Are you running the 35 s with aftermarket rims? Do you still have your stock wheels, if so you might have to run those until you get the Procal.....

I am ordering the proCAL today, hopefully it would sort it out..
I spoke to a mechanic, he told me the following:
1) I have to re-gear from my stokc 3.73
2) No programmer is out for the 2012 wranglers (i.e. superchips, diablo, etc.), therefore i can't solve the problem until a programmer is out..
I just opted to go with the proCAL for now, hoping things will get better, if they do then great.. If not, then i have no other choice but to wait for one of those programmers to change my shifting points.
Any other recommendation are welcome.

You do not have to regear. You might want to in the future but it is not a have-to. I am running 3.21 gears with 33s in my 12 which is worse than 35s with 3.73s. It's fine. The procal will set you up good.

This is what you need.
I'm running 35s with 3.21 gears and after ProCal it feels just like my stock Jeep. I originally planned to regear but the guys at EVO told me wouldn't be necessary. I would still eventually like to but they saved me a lot of cash I was able to put towards other things for the time being.
