Now I'm still running my stock Rubi tires 255/75/17 on aftermarket ATX 17x8 wheels. The tires are 9.5-10 inches wide. They hang out of the fenders about 1 inch. The tires I'm looking at are 305/65/17 and are 12 inches wide. Does this mean they will stick out 2 more inches? I'm not looking for this look or all the dirt I'll be spraying down my jeep.
I tried the search tab on 3 forums it seems like this size tire is not very popular.

 

More like 1" more to the outside and 1" to the inside.
