Help with Overdrive on an Auto Trans.
Can you invert the switch from overdrive off to overdrive on ? And /or turn off the overdrive light in the dash ? And / Or will daily driving with the overdrive off hurt anything other than MPGs? how about the warranty ?
I have a small lift and 285/70/17s and the jeep will not hold 70mph up hills with the overdrive on

I don't know about changing b/c it resets when you turn the vehicle off, i don't have an issue b/c i live in s. la. with flat roads but did think of just moving the button to a more accessible place, side of gear lever or even somewhere on center console should be easy.

Someone on the forum installed a momentary-on relay that turns the o/d off for you, each time the vehicle is started.
Driving around with o/d off is not bad for the engine or the transmission. It may even be beneficial around town. It will reduce engine load, and reduce transmission shifting.
If you have larger tires, your engine rpm will drop. Depending on size, turning off o/d on the highway may return your engine to its normal rpm, so no harm there, either. You should reprogram the computer for the larger tires, though.
It's good to regear for larger tires. That, and reprogramming, will return most things to normal, (or even better).
