if you're just planning on running 35's, 4" of lift is more than you need. 3" of lift will do the job just fine and make your jeep look more proportional. having said that, the reason why some kits don't come with adjustable control arms is because they are trying to offer you a kit that costs a lot less. are adjustable control arms "needed"? no. however, without them, you will not be able to dial in your caster up front and that will cause your jeep to feel flighty on the highway. also, if you ever upgrade your rear drive shaft to an aftermarket u-joint style shaft, you will not be able to set your pinion angle without them.

as far as wheels go, you'll want about 4.5" of back spacing or less on a 12.50 wide tire.

You could run a TeraFlex 2.5" coil kit (#1251000) for those 35's. But again the only way to set caster is too have some adjustable control arms. Either wheelspacers or new wheels with 4.5" of backspacing.

If all you want it to fit the 35s and get some extra flex the 2.5" TF Coil is a solid choice. If you are really budget driven then consider their BB.

There a lots of owners here of these two kits that can provide testimony to quality and provide installation tips.

2.5-3" of lift is the limit before you may start needing all sorts of other parts, so just decide if you want to turn your JK into a project or just want a lift and be done with it.

im running the teraflex 2.5" coil lift with shocks. i absolutely love it. my 35's fit fine. we are using the teraflex 1.5" leveling kit and rubicon shocks and coils on my wife's sahara and even that looks like it would fit 35's and be fine for mild off roading (she is running 33's). we both have 16x8 pro comp alloys with 4" BS.

If your not made of money, forget the 4" lift, there's way too much involved if you wanna go that high. Your most economical route to be able and run 35's would be 2.5" teraflex coil/shock lift (3"-3.5" actual lift up front depending on mods). Many have gotten away with not needing any other components other than what came with that lift. At the most you might need an adj. front trackbar.

Check out www.4wd.com they've got a good discount going on ALL Teraflex products.

Isn't the adjustable track bar important? I heard that the axle can end up shifted over without one.

The R.E. 3 1/2 superflex comes with everything you need and nothing you dont. very happy with mine If you have an auto sooner or later you will want/have to change your front driveshaft.

There will be axle shift with any lift. The higher you go, the further offset the axles become, and the more important it is to re-center. Some kits include brackets or new or adjustable trackbars, but a lot of less expensive (less complete) kits do not.

As with a lot of lift components, you'll have to decide for yourself how important it is to you, based on your budget and the handling characteristics you're willing to live with.
