Default help - question on bumper lift needs?

Hi,

Need your advise. I have a 2010 JK 4 door Sahara with factory towing package. Will be putting a Body Armor front bumper with winch on the front (estimate 200-250lbs) and a HyLine rear bumper with tire carrier.

I'm thinking with the added weight of the bumpers, winch, winch plate, and skid plate, the front may sag some or the whole jeep may be lower? Guess I should take some measurements before and after.

What is the best way to deal with this issue? Some have said that take off springs and shocks from a Rubicon will give me some (.75-1.0") lift; some say that the springs on the factory towing units are already set up with the stiffer Rubicon springs.

Or, maybe a simple lift kit to get 2" or 2.5" gain would be best??

Most on this forum would suggest adding a 3/4" coil spacers to the front to account from the sag from the added weight.

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but I'm looking at getting new front and rear bumpers (RR XHD) also and I have the the TF 2.5 BB. The BB kit already has me running the coil spacers. What would I have to do to keep the height after installing new bumpers (and eventually a winch)? Guessing I would have to go with new coil springs.

With a lot of added weight, the stock coils will sag/compress. You are better off with taller/stiffer coils than adding spacers. (especially if you are considering 'stacking' spacers)

Just do your homework to get a better idea of the actual height gains you will get with any specific coil. For a minor gain to help with new bumpers, you might check out TF's new 1.5" coil kit.
