Help regarding lift and tires!
Hey everyone! I just got a 2013 Sahara JKU a few months ago
I've done a few mods...air intake, front and back bumper, and a few other things.
I really want a "beefier" look. I have flat fender flares. I was thinking of running 33's, but beyond that I'm completely lost as to what I need for a good mean look. I am NOT lifting it, for reasons that will take far too long to explain. I hardly offroad with this one. This Jeep is my DD, I have a different one I use to play, and goes for long hauls (3+ hours) on the weekends.
Can anyone recommend exact tire size and brand? Just really wanting the beefy, mean look without lifting. I love the wide tires with flat fender flares! Also thinking of 16 wheels with the 33's, opinions?
Really just completely lost in this aspect. I'm a major newb so any advice or recommendations is greatly appreciated!

Post a pic of your rig neighbor. Since you have a Sahara you have 18" wheels. Ever think of getting Rubi take offs? Can be had for cheap and tires might be cheaper as well. I am deciding on either 33's or 35's. I will keep my wheels and running spacers that have given me a wider stance. If you go with 33's you would be fine with out flatties. I might trim mine if I go with 35's. I know mine is a 2 dr and I like my stance now.
33 x 12.50's seem to be the norm. or metric equivalent. Search for threads with 33's or even google jeep jku with 33's and you will get some great ideas.

35's are a much better fit if you are looking for the aggressive look. You already have flat fenders so you can fit 35's with a 4.5" bs wheel and trimming or removing the plastic air dam up front. No lift needed on a daily driver. 33's are not worth going too as you are only gaining about 1" over the stock and with the flat fenders it would still look like the tires are too small. 16" and 35's would fit fine just make sure the bs is 4.5" or less.
There are tons of choices out there. Ride, mileage, traction on different surfaces. I would start research on a tire website like tirerack.com or discount tire to get the info you need. You are going to find that just about everybody on a forum will recommend the tires they are running.
You may also want to search out one of the many "post up your JKU on 35's" threads out there to see what different set ups are. There are lots of people on here running 35's with no lift.
