Default Help on shock selection

Hey, I was just wondering if i could get some recommendations on shock selection. I have a 2009 jeep wrangler x 2dr. I currently am running the 2.5" teraflex bb lift kit. The teraflex kit came with 4 teraflex 9550 shocks. Not only did they ride bad, but the rear ones are blown right out. I need new shocks now so i figure its a good time to upgrade to a more reliable better riding shock. I do alot of highway driving and go wheeling every weekend. I do moderate level trails will both mudholes and fairly tough rock sections. My final setup will be a 2.5" rockkrawler max travel system ( to even out the front rake) and all be running 33' BFG Km2's. Any input would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

I'd say either Fox, Elka or Kings. The price goes up respectively.

I hear good things about OME shocks and Blisten shocks. I think the big thing is hydro vs nitro. Maybe someone can elaborate more on that. Just make sure to get nitro filled shocks. And dont use a shock boot. They retain moisture and dirt which can shorten the shocks life or in a rare case cause it to fail/malfunction.

I just got in my OME Nitro long travel shocks. Installing them this weekend. I hope they are as good as their reputation is.

I've also got Bilstein HD on my Tundra, great shocks.

Buddy of mine has bilsteins and the ride is EXTREMELY smooth. They eat up any bump on the road with minimal feel inside the jeep. They are definitely on my upgrade list!

Well after carefully reading the reply's its apparent to me that the OME's and Bilsteins win the majority vote. Majority usually is right most of the time so I will look into both those shocks and try and decide which ones to buy. All get back to you guy's to let you know what i ended up getting. Thanks to all who put in there advice.

Ok i did some research on both the old man emu and bilstein shocks. I decided to go with the bilstein shocks. I plan to order them some time next week.
