Default Help with spray tint?

Hi guys, just had a few questions before I attempt this project. I am wanting to smoke the turn signal lenses and fender lenses on the jk. I am using rustoleum lense tint. Do I spray this stuff inside the lense or outside? What would give the best results? I have to take them out anyways so I was just checking. Any other help or info would be great! Thank you guys!

With my side markers adn turn signals in the front I took them out and sprayed the inside, but with teh back taillights I just taped them off, sanded them with extremely fine sandpaper, wiped them down with alcohol and sprayed on 3 coats. It looks professional and great!

So it sounds like you guys sprayed the inside of the lense. I thought that would be best but i wasn't sure if the heat from the bulb would cause it to bubble or flake. I bought a can of clear but if I do the inside I guess I won't need to clear it. Any other help or info would be great. Thanks!

I sprayed the outside with VHT. If you spray the inside it will just make the light dimmer.

Couple of threads on here.

VHT can be bought at Summit and a few auto stores.

1) Remove lenses
2) Prep lenses with cleaner
3) use light sandpaper or scratchpad to scuff exterior
4) spray OUTSIDE with 3 LIGHT coats, allowing drying time between coats
5) spray 2-3 coats of clear
6) wetsand with 1500 grit sandpaper
7) wetsand with 2500 grit sandpaper
8) wetsand with 3000 grit sandpaper
9) Buff with rubbing/polish compound, 3M makes great compounds

They will come out like glass!!!!

I did the same thing for my car tail lens. One caution though. VHT is very dark so spray the first coat then check to see if its dark enough. I ended up using only two light coats.
