Regarding the actual topic of the sterling. I absolutely agree with you ABENDX. There is plenty of info on the sterling swap. 4WHEEL mag juat did a 3 part article on it. But theirs was an earlier model a 02 or 03 as I recall. All I've been saying is that the one I purchased is out of a 2012. And although I can't pin down the exact differnce in the sterlings, there has to be
one because randys ring and pin states their sterling gears do not fit the 2011 and newer. Also I know the 2011 and newer has the 37 spline shafts.

Once again sorry for the confusion. But as it stands I was wondering if anyone knew if the sterling gears being sold for 2010 and earlier would fit my 2012.

Come on Abendex I know you have an idea.

Any late model item is going to cause you a headache as you are finding... if anyone has done the swap, it might not even have much info related to your swap (different vehicles, etc).

I'm running a set of Super Duty axles.... not quite as late as yours, but 2005+, which matters to you. Here's a bit of info in a post clearing some stuff up, but as I told you before, PBB is your real resource. You should also seek the assistance of a local junkyard.... forget what you read on Ford's website and any other place selling (especially the crooks at Randy's/Yukon), as they have more part numbers for the same thing than I have hairs on my head. The junkyard can tell you EXACTLY what does and doesn't fit.

Now I seeeeeee what was so funny! You had answered a lot of my questions in a similar thread. I actually did see that thread but didn't get past the second page bc I didn't think it would be much help. I never made it to your post.

Well between your post here and the other thread you've answered a lot. I guess I got some thinking to do.

Thanks !!!
