Default HELP: swapping 3.8L with a 3.6L

I have a 2009 JK with the 3.8L that I have removed the motor/trans, dash assembly, and shifting unit so that I can install a newer 3.6L from a 2012 JK motor and trans. I was told that as long as i find a 2012-2018 complete dash assembly with computer, fuse block, and shifting assembly that I would be good to go. Now that I have ripped all my 09 stuff out and have the 2012 3.6L motor n trans, I have located a 12-18 dash and shifter, but now being told by several people (from the salvage yard to jeep dealer techs) that the may not marry up electronically and will likely have coding issues that may not be able to be fixed??

Has anyone out there successfully swapped out a 3.8L with a 3.6L? I need help??
