Default Help turning my Sport into a Rubicon

Hey all, I soon might have the possibility of snagging the drive out of a 2007 Rubi Unlimited to upgrade my 2010 Sport Unlimited. This would include transfer case, axles, and drive shafts. I'm wondering if anybody else out there has done this and what hiccups I might expect doing this. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Axles direct swap when bolting up. Wiring the rubi lockers is going to be the biggest part of that.

Driveshafts are not different between the models, so save money and not buy those if you're being charged extra for them. If it's included in the price or want spares, keep em.

Not too sure on the transfer case, but I don't think there's anything different other than the ratio inside of it.

I would suggest wiring the lockers to an spod.

Add a secondary set of otwraw switches as safety switches (dual led)

Use the ground that comes off the sensors at the lockers to turn on the upper led on each safety switch.

This is what I did and it works great!

You can accidentally turn the lockers on when you don't want to and you have an indicator that tells you when the lockers are engaged.

Some times they stay locked for a bit even after you unlock them. Very good to know!

I just did the same thing last month, haven't wired up the lockers yet. Be a good time to C-Gusset and sleeve while the front is out

Hey,

Making my Sporticon up right now! ARB lockers and Artec Armor kit to the stock axles.

One note about the Tcase - If you have a 12+ automatic JK, you need a 12+ automatic RockTrac. If you have any other JK, you can use any t-case EXCEPT a 12+ automatic.

Good luck with the build

Yup, you can add a safety switch to the OTTRAW switches so you don't accidentally activate the lockers while doing 70mph. Mine are wired so the large LED lights when I hit the switch and the bar LED lights when the lockers actually lock. These switches aren't active unless I hit another switch (to provide the OTTRAW switches power) that is on the other side of the steering column from the locker switches. These might help a bit. Plug '1' (small plug) is your actual locker while plug '2' (larger plug) is the locker indicator.
