Default HELP with vibation!

Recently upgraded front and rear driveshafts, aftermarket double cardan as well as rear aftermarket axle shafts(ten factory). Currently running ONLY the rear driveshaft. Prior to this upgrade I had no vibration whatsoever. Now I have a pulsating/rhythic buzzing/vibration that is really only felt in the steering wheel. I dont feel it in the seat. I dont feel it in the transfer case or stick shift. I dont feel in in the pedals. I seem to only feel in in the steering wheel. The pulsating buzzing/vibration is only 55-60, and does not make if I am coasting or on the throttle. The buzzing/vibration appears to worsen when I am turning, i think. I have checked the torque on everything, toe in is spot on, lugs are torqued, control arms are torqued, and jam nuts are tight. THe only thing different in the front end is the new yoke and that I have no driveshaft connected. One thing I do notice is that when I turn the yoke by hand, it feels as if the pinion teeth are not completely in contact with the ring teeth. There is some wiggle where it feels they are not mated. So would a fubared pinion bearing or crush cause a speed related vibe? Seems like you would hear a bad pinion bearing. BTW tires have been balanced to rule out out of balance tires, they didnt vibe before anyways.

Why? Lots of people do that for one reason or another, with no problem.

x2!! That has nothing to do with your vibration. I've been running no front shaft for a couple months with no problems. Like ronjenx said, people do it all the time. Now, when you talk about the yolk, did you switch the stock flange out to a new yolk? If so, go through your process here so we can see what might have gone wrong.

Well against my better judgement due to my lack of time I had a driveline shop install the yokes because they were allready pressing on tone ring and retainer plates for my rear axle install. I typically do all my own work. The yokes are spicer u joint yokes. I have no earthly idea what they were torqued to.

My inclination is possible pinion bearing issue.

I would take it back to them ASAP and have them diagnose it(i.e. before something important breaks). They should have some kind of warranty on the install.

Nothing wrong with no shaft up front. If anything the exact opposite. I know of a few guys that DD their rigs pull shafts between wheeling trips. ... That didn't sound right You can only lift so much and degree this and that before re-clocking axle "C"'s but that is a different story and inside joke
