Default Help w/ KC HiLite Windshield Install

ALCON:

I'm looking for some pictorial assistance with installing two KC lites to my JK's windshield. The instructions from KC are pathetic and simply unexcusable.

What type of pictoral assistance, wiring diagrams, or wire routing throughout the jeep?

The KC lights kit will provide you wiring diagrams IE Hot, grounds, fuses ect. As for routing, for me, I just did it as cleanly as possible. I am sure there are folks out there who have taken pics during thier instalations.

I had posted some wiring pics from my install but here they are again:

First step will be to spread out the wiring harness and get a clear idea of what your working with. Attach the white and yellow wire to the battery terminal as shown, and the black to the other:

Here is where I found the easiest place to mount the relay and fuse:

Use the stock wiring as a place to conceal the cables and run the driver side light extension and the white and green wire along the back of the engine compartment, simply tucking it into the other wiring:

On each side the extensions with the ligth terminals (red and white wires) can be pulled up through the panel with the windshield wipers through it. Just loosen the torx screws and pull the wires up through as shown:

Looking down on the drivers side into the engine compartment against the back wall, you'll find a black rubber gasket. I poked a hole and stuck the wiring for the switch right through that. It leads directly below the dash where you can pull the wires through and up behind:

Drill a whole big enough for the switch. I dont remember but taking a guess I believe i used 1/2" bit. Install the switch and tighten. Then plug the leads as directed to the switch. Also attach the brown ground to something such as this bolt:

The switch ends up looking very clean:

Plug in the light terminals, and enjoy!

Related question . . .
I realize that a separate wiring harness would be needed due to the amp draw, but will the stock alternator be adequate to run the 150W KC highlighters? The JK has a 160 amp alternator but also is power hungry. These KC 150w have a 40 amp relay. I'm talking about a pair only.

Thanks! I see you are running 130W so I'll be ok.

It's 14-16 ga. At least my 130w Daylighters have 14-16.
