Default Help!!! What else do I need...

So I am pretty sure I am going with the TeraFlex 4" Long Arm Lift kit with Shocks and 37" tires with 16" rims. Besides the tires and rims, what else is not included in this lift that I will need to do or purchase? I have a 2008 Sahara Unlimited manual trans. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new to this whole thing and I want to make sure I get what I need before I start the lift.

Will probably want new gears too, 5.13's. Don't need them, but with the stock ratio you have in your axles now, you'll be dogging with those 37's, even with the stick.

I would suggest you get some new gears too...with 37's i would say some 5.13's would be good for you. Also with the dana 30 front and running 37's, i would look at possibly beefing up your front axles if you plan on doing some off roading. Possibly a new drive shaft or two....but i dunno how you 4-door'ers do with a 4 inch lift and driveshafts.

I know a lot of people with dana 30 fronts are running 37's...but if you plan on doing stuff off road...your front axle will be the weak point. Do a few searches on your options with your lift/tire size/axle size and read up on it. I went with a 5.5" long arm kit and stayed with 35's. The lift/tire combo look awesome in my opinion and i figure in a year or two i will swap out a dana 44 in the front to replace my dana 30 and put some 37's on.

Can you post a picture please? I am still undecided about whether to go with 35's or 37's and you do bring up a very good point. Thank you for your response.

here you go...plus with 35's you have more room to flex and wont have to spend extra money on new fenders when you rip them off lol.

I just put my Tera long arm kit on this weekend. I also installed front and rear Teraflex driveshafts, a steering stabilizer, and when my rear gears show up(backordered), I will be regearing to 5:13. I went with 37" KM2's, and feel it is perfect proportion for the lift and Jeep.

I agree that you should also upgrade your Dana 30 at some point(I have a Rubi so didn't need to). 37's are pretty big shoes and will put a lot of stress on your front end.

In the end, I personally would have been very dissapointed if I would have gone the 35" route. The Teraflex 4" kit will actually net you around 5" to 5.5", and the 37's really do not look as big on a lifted 4 door as they do in the tire shop!
