Default Help With Wheels & Tires

Hopefully soemone out there has the same setup I am considering. I don't plan to lift my '09 2-door Rubicon, just want fatter tires. Here is what I am looking at:

Wheels: 17x8.5, 4.76 BS (stock is 17x7.5, 6.25 BS..I think)

Tires: BFG Mud Terrain T/A KM2 305/65R17
per tirerack, the section width is 12.2 on a 9" rim. so 12" on a 8.5 rim
OD is 32.8 vs 32.1 stock (+.7)

My calculations (if I have a clue), the tire side wall will stick out 2.89" more per side, and the inside sidewall will be pushed outward 1.09" per side.

What do you think? Will it work? Will I have problems?

I think a lot of guys are running procomps with 4.75" backspacing with 35x12.50s. So i suspect you should be OK.

You can put a 12.5" wide tire on an 8" wide rim no problem.. so you are good to go..

I doubt it. I run 35x12.50x17s on 17x9s with a -10mm offset which I calculate out as a 4.1" backspacing. I have 1 5/8ths (call it 2 inches) sticking out from each fender. That was checked with a straight edge when I was centering my front axle.

Any procomp guys running 4.75 inch backspacing that can check how much tire you have sticking out for zr2tim?
