Why then don't you just look in all the catalogs? I mean if it's just for looks get the one you think looks the best. I'm sure any of them will work the one or two times you use it.....

I understand where you're coming from but don't be too sure. Sometimes lack of use is more destructive to things like these rather than over-use. Thats why I want the best (Warn). I think they both look great but was curious what the others here thought about their looks. Ialso like to have the total package when the rig is done being modified and if I cheaped out on the winch, which is essentially like a piece of jewelry bolted to my bumper I wouldn't feel right about it.

when some people go shoping for winches they have several things they are looking for. Honestly I don'y think looks to be one of them. Personally I may think of up grading my winch due to all the armor I have on it and breaking the cable itself trying to winch myself out. granted I did not have a snatch block and that would have worked alot better but yes when I went wheeling and got stuck I wasn't aware the ground would give away as it did and I would sink so far down. I walked over it before I even tried or decided going through it because I helped a full size ford out of it and he only sank maybe 4 inches but he had no traction with his stock tires after examining the ground and seeing how little he sank I thought I could do it and have a little fun getting dirty just to kinda show him up a little yeah that didn't work because I buried my tires in the muck.

Now if you are just looking for looks think of how much you wanna spend Both mentioned winches look good and the 9.5 may look a little better but then also costs more but you have some added features the xdi doesn't. So IMHO go with what you really want to see on the front of your JK you are the one that has to live with it. Could I afford the 9.5ti when I was shopping yes but I didn't think I needed the thermo display and what not. and being they have the same cable and it also depends on how you winch yourself out or your friend that is wheeling with you. I am happy with the xdi and it looks good in my front bumper.

Heres Link to another winch and shows how bad I was stuck

If money is not an issue, then go with the 9.5ti. It looks better (IMO), and if I am not mistaken, the solenoids are a little better protected than on the 9000i.

How visible will your winch be? Is your bumper going to cover most of your winch or will it be out in the open?

If it were me and I could afford either one, I would go with the ti for it's added performance/solenoid protection. It also happens to be the better looking of the two, all swoopy and shit. The 9000i is an older, more squared off design.

Yes, I understand that as well. I personally went with the tried and true Warn M8000. The only thing I don't like is the ugly raised solenoid. When I install the winch the solenoid will be placed behind the grill pretty much out of sight.

I'd suggest the 9.5ti then. Looks partly played into my decision to buy one, but there were lots of other factors for me as well.
