Hemi or Cummins?
I have looked into a 4bt for my EB but I wouldn't want that in my JK for everyday driving. Having LS powered SUVs and trucks for years they have been smooth, get decent mileage and have been trouble free. I would love that same powerplant in my Jeep. No hemi for me.
LS all the way! , a few reasons why : lighter than a hemi engine, more fuel efficient, more cost effective, and let's not forget Chevrolet's 6 speed auto trans, which has a lower low gear than a jk rubicon and a higher high gear. I have a blown 6.0 LS engine in my jk, and I love it!! There are kits out there that can leave your LS jk working like it came like that from the factory, even with cruise control and tap shift, even smog legal. But like all good things, they come with a price not so cheap
If you are willing to sacrifice a light on your dash, and work around smog, there are other options, For a fraction of the cost.
I've ridden in a 4bt jk, and even though it's better than the 3.8 , it wasnt for me. I prefer a smoother running v8 in mine.
Whatever you decide to choose, it will be better than the pos that jeep put under the hood. Best of luck with your build

as far as fitting goes,I'd think a 3.5L is gonna fit a lot better than a 5.3-6.4L would
