Default Hemi or LS swap

Thinking about doing an engine swap in my 07 JKU and getting rid of the sick 3.8 and automatic transmission. I am currently running 37 inch tires with a 5.13 gear loaded down with bumpers, rocker guards, winch, etc. Give me some feedback on what your experience and preferences are.

6.2 LS MoTech Kit

Running 4.10s with 37's getting around 19.2 MPG's and I can run 70, 80, 90 on the hwy, and yes I can I can do a burnout

Loaded down with Poison Spyder bumpers, flares, cage, rocker knockers..

I've sleeved and gusseted the front, RCV's front and upgraded rear axle shafts but haven't done anything else, plan to upgrade to 60's at some point so if shit breaks it just breaks.

hemi would be the better option, LS the much cheaper option. LS motors can push plenty of power with small mods too

Just curious why you say the hemi is the better option? I thought they were heavier and have a tendency to overheat?

Idk about in a Jeep, pushing 37's, but I have had a durango with a hemi and had no issues with overheating. They are heavier that is tru. What sort of LS are you thinking of swapping in?

I have a Hemi in my JK. Not worth it unless you HAVE to put a new engine IMHO.

I've talked with mo-tec , speed shop and a company out of Michigan. Pricing runs about the same with either engine but I'm kind of partial to the LS due to less weight and physically smaller. they make good power and I think they would last longer before needing a re-build. I would like to have a manual transmission but the 6L80 seems to be a very dependable auto tranny. I would probable go with the 5.3 or 6.0L in the LS or a 5.7 in a Hemi.

Literally same here. @ 70 with 37x13.50's I am @ 1850-1950 rpm ish. The 6l80e trans is nothing short of amazing.
