My plan was a VVT 5.7 and 545RFE for my 2007. However I came across a2n entire 2008 WK with non VVT engine with a couple bad lifters for quite cheap. I'll be pulling the drivetrain here in a week or so and ordering up the mounts and small bits from JSS. He was very helpful on the phone, and you can buy the stuff piecemeal from him, if you're wanting to fab something yourself. I'll be doing my own harness, but his bolt in mounts will save me a BUNCH of time.

More V8 Jeeps Wait till you even go offroad. The difference is in quantum leaps. Can't wait for FCA to get that 5.7 in a JL

In 2021-2022, I did a DIY JSS hemi conversion with 2008 RAM 5.7L and 545RFE trans. Works great! Since I completed the swap, there has been a lot of hype about 8 speed transmissions. Does anyone have first hand knowledge about whether an 8 speed (8hp70, 8hp45) will match with the 2008 5.7L? I emailed Todd at JSS, but I also wanted to ask the collective knowledge.
