Default Herculiner, anyone use it?

I want to coat my bumper, inner fender wells and rockers with something durable. This seems to be my best choice but there's a lot of roll on bedliners out there and wondering if anyone has experience with this one? Its supposedly the best, but i'm looking for first hand reviews...thanks!

I have my rockers that are painted with a textured, spray-on bed liner. It's not super durable, but you are easily able to touch it up and it blends very well and you can't even tell that you sprayed another layer on. I get it from Advance Auto or some place similar for about $7.50/can.

Now, on my old TJ, I did have the inside of the tub painted with Herculiner, and that held up faily well, but would chip in some areas. I think it was more durable than what I'm using now, but I like the looks of this spray on stuff better.

Just did my rock rails with Herc before Camp Jeep and they held up nicely. Rubbed them on a couple rocks with no ill effects. Great product!

I have a vehicle done inside and out with Hurculiner. The gallon can stuff NOT the rattle can stuff.

The spray can bed liner stuff are worthless, don't waste your money or time

get the gallon or half gallon kits, a smoother roller gives smoother results. I like mine agressive so I used a couple textured rollers. Follow the directions, wear clothes you DO NOT CARE ABOUT, wear gloves, and prep the surface nice and clean.

I used Gator Guard, similar to Herculiner, on my TJ's bumpers, mirrors, fender flares, and rock rails. Then, I had enough left over to do the fender wells.

The durability was good, but my TJ never saw any rough action. The only problem I had was that it did flake off in the wheel wells. I assumed it was because it was the only place I didn't degrease/prep before hand.

I had planned on going this route again. The only thing I would change would be to wear latex gloves! I looked crazy for about 2 weeks...

A guy in my club has his TJ herculined.. looks good.

I used Durabak on my TJ tub, its basically the same thing. I actually rolled mine on, it came out OK. Then I sprayed my girlfriends TJ (Now wife's). It came out very good. We bought a gun from Harbor freight for $20.00

Thanks for the comments. There's no local dealers for Herculiner here so before i bothered with ordering some i figured i'd see if it was really that much better than what i can get localy. I can get dupicolor(roll on and spray), gator gaurd, hippo liner, and motormaster. Thats pretty much the order of price too, dupicolor's kit being the most...

I guess herculiner isn't worth ordering, i guess i'll try gator or hippo seeing that they're half the price of dupi...and line x on just my bumper would cost the same as enough roll on to do the entire rig...

As for the fender wells, well the plastic is being removed so painted steel is exposed to rocks...

Duplicolor, that's the stuff I use. I couldn't remember the name when I originally posted. Yea, it may scratch if you hit a rock (but what won't) but the nice thing is that you can just spray over to touch it up and it blends very well. That's what on my rock rails and that's what I'm planning to put on my bumper.

Default Herculiner for rocker panels

I just put Herculiner on my rocker panels. It looks very good and I put on 3 thick coats. I just wanted something there for a little more protection. As I took off the wimpy step rails and put on Shrockworks rock rails. One word of advice - do some good prep work prior to putting it on. Also get yourself a sprayer for undercarriage coating. There about $25.00 or so on Amazon.

I know this is a very old thread, but I just posted this in the "Great Lakes" section so I thought I would paste it here for everyone else.

I know this is weird, but I wanted to do some testing of the UV properties in Hurculiner. I painted two 2X4's. Left one in the garage. Put one outside in open sunlight. One and a half years later, this is what I Got.

Right is the outdoors. Left was Indoors
