Herculiner prep?
From what I have seen and read, the best thing to do is apply the 2nd coat BEFORE the 1st one dries. 1 to 4 hours or within 24 hours...
Also, high humidity would have a longer dry time too. 55% humidity is perfect.
EDIT: sorry I am at work. So my responses are not exactly timely.

Thanks. I just went out and put the 2nd coat on. Looks good. Glad I didn't do the whole jeep. That was a lot of work. I thoght I read somewhere that high humidity was better for some reason even though that's the opposite of paint.
Nah low humidity is better, it allows the moisture in the paint to evaporate more quickly. I just sprayed the last coat of liner on my wheels. Took damn near 6 hours. But the outcome is well worth it (stand by for pics)! The Rustoleum spray on liner I used only had a recoat dry time of 2 minutes, Lucky me! After the wheels took so damn long I can't imagine lining the entire tub, that must take an entire day. It's definitely on the to do list though.
This is taken from Herculiner website (prob should have read all this stuff BEFORE I put in on
.
Q: Can I apply HERCULINER in the winter?
A: Yes, HERCULINER can be applied between 32 F and 95 F.
However, the colder the temperature and the lower the
humidity, the longer the curing process will take. Additionally,
it MUST BE APPLIED IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA.
So I was right, it likes higher humidity which is odd.

I spent the time scraping up sound dampening crap. Took 4 hours with hammer and chisel and paint striping drill attachment. I was cursing chrysler the whole time. Well wort the effort. Mine was wet underneath and there wad sand and salt trapped under it. I would take the time. I used one quart to do passenger and driver footwells. 2 coats. 30 bucks. U need to buy roller and 2 roller refills, some sort if solvent like acetone, 2 cheap trays, good rubber glves 2 cheap brushes painters tape andsandpaper. All in all cost me like65 bucks. Forgot to mention u should get drill stir attachment. Makes it much easier to stir it.
Sound proofing isnt a concern for me. I was running with no carpets and just rubber mats on top of the metal. I dont run any carpet in back either onthe floor or foot area (2 door). I havent driven it yet so I dont know how the herculiner blocks out sound. I also dont run with any rear windows from May to october so its always noisy. I am still going to use mats. I really wanted this to protect the high traffic areas of my jeep and keep it from rusting.
