Here comes my Skyjacker 4" kit. Will I be sorry?
Pavement queen, pavement queen, pavement queen. Did I mention it will be a pavement queen???
I talked with many of the different manufacturers as to MY needs. Not flexing etc. Just wanted to run 37s for the ultimate mall crawler. EVERYone of them within two seconds of our conversation, would end up with the focus being on flex, flex, flex. Now I know these are intelligent people, but why do I need a 4k dollar long arm kit?
Anyway long story short, the only one that had a reasonably priced kit(and seemed to listen to my needs) was Skyjacker. I got the JK401K kit for around $850 without shocks. I got the revised bracket for the rear trackbar, the drop pitman arm,the steering stabilizer, longer stronger lower track bars, and all the rest of the usual stuff(coils, brackets, etc.)
Since ordering, I am finding so many negative posts about Skyjacker that I'm afraid to even install it.
Did I make a mistake? If so, how bad? What else do I need to make this lift safe and reliable?

The real negative is the rear trackbar bracket, but you have addressed that with the revised bracket. I run their 2.5 with the new trackbar bracket and have no trouble. I wheel it pretty hard too. Ride is very smooth. I ahve the hydro shocks, gas tend to be stiffer.
I have the same exact system you got and have had no problems at all. It should take you about 5 hrs to install and doesnt require any specal tools except for the drop pitman arm. I have had it for almost 4 months and cant complain at all. Easy to install and directions are easy to understand. Remember after you complete your install RECENTER your steering wheel by adjusting the rod that goes from your drop pitman are to the right tire. You wont have to worry about adjusting anything else at all. Also before you install you lower control arms make sure you put the grease zert fittings in brfore you install them on the jeep. With 37's you might have to trim your front plastic cover right under you bumper. I have 35's and they rub a little when I turn hard left or right. No rub anywhere else tho.
On your shocks you will want to take a little motor oil and rub it on the outside of the bushing. Makes the bushing easier to get in and when you go to put the rear bushing in dont get to pissed off. Make sure theres no little kids around when you put the upper bushing into the shock and then have to put the metal braket thru the rubber bushing, you'l most likely say a few choise words. I think that was the hardest part of the whole system, getting that dam rear upper shock mounting bracket in.
If you need pics let me know or if you got questions I'll be more than happy to answer them. The best part of the JK are the mods out there for it.

I had the skyjacker 2.5 and it performed better offroad than on road. With the lack of adjustable control arms you aren't going to be able to get your caster set high enough (between 7 and 9) so your onroad manners arent going to be as good as they could be.
just had the 6" long arm installed and very happy with it. My only problem was that the front end sagged so much, had to install 2" spacers to level it out. Oh well. I doubt that there is much difference between the 6" and 4". Runs and drives as good as stock so far, even with stock stabilizer. I was advised to get rid of the skyjacker shocks, and get some longer ones. I bought the procomp MX6 shocks that are about 3" longer than recommended with straps to keep the coils from coming out. Have yet to test of off road, just got
