Default Hesco or ripp

what is the major difference in between HESCO or RIPP. There are many people who installed RIPP but for my pupose HESCO is a better product.

I can use my snorkel
Its a right hand drive JK so Hesco is better fitment

at the end of the day they are both superchargers giving the engine the reqd boost and numbers are the same in HP & Torque

Sorry to say...
the RIPP Supercharger has not been tested on a Right Hand Drive JK. You may have to experiment with the competitors system.

I installed a Hesco s/c in my unlimited rubi and my experience has been very positive. It's almost like driving a different rig. I've used it a few thousand miles and haven't had any problems so far. I'm using an AEV snorkel along with it and they play along fine, except for a little oil that is sucked from the ccv that has to be cleaned once in a while, but it's nothing major. You might want to have your PCM reflashed to avoid the TRD problem. It's very rare, but you'll encounter it eventually with a supercharged wrangler. The boost you get is awesome, and if you need more you can increase boost. Changing the exhaust to a 3" pipe and a free flowing muffler plays along really well if you want to increase your high rpm torque.

All in all, it's the best mod I've put on my JK, and it's way more cost effective than a hemi swap. Considering the 5.7 hemi has what... 330 hp? I don't even understand why someone would swap in a 5.7 if they can get the same boost with a s/c and some tweaks for a much lower cost.

thanks Titanus hesco is looking very positive and a very simple install compared to others. The best thing is u can use ur snorkel.

We have a lot of mud here not many rocks so snorkel is a must have.

is ur left or right hand drive? Bec I am reallocating the battery at the rear anyways one for cranking one for winching and lights. I think Hesco have fixed the trd issue ages ago and there customer servcie is excellent also

My rubi is a left hand drive, I bought her in the States. The TRD problem still exists, and probably does so with any s/c or turbo for that matter, because it's the stock software reacting to very high rpms reached very quickly which according to its programming shouldn't be possible. Hesco has a fix available, but it requires them to reprogram your JK's PCM (you have to ship it to them or have them send you a new, programmed one).

TO be clear we do not have a TRD issue with our system, we have a ZERO check engine light environment - to our knowledge if it does happen its seldom at best. This condition also happens naturally aspirated from time to time.

I have the HESCO supercharger in my JK. I had the TRD problem happen going up hills. HESCO had a computer in stock when I worked with them on the issue. They sent their out to be flashed for my jeep. They then shipped their computer to me and I swapped them out in ten minutes. I have not been able to make the TRD issue come up since then. I believe the problem is fixed for good. I now have about 14K miles on the supercharger with no issues.

I can vouch for the Ripp. After installing a simple TRD fix, and making the recommended adjustment to the blowoff valve...LOL .. I no longer get the lightning bolt. Which only happened under specific conditions anyway. Going heavy into the gas at about 50mph

But to the OP, your biggest concern will be the rhd.

tambil68, I have that same problem. occasional lighting bolt when going heavy at upper speeds. what changes did you make???? It is really frustrating due to entering limp mode in heavy traffic.
