Default Hesitation in 2nd

My jeep has been really hesitant in 2nd gear. It sputters and loses all power for a few seconds than takes off. Sometimes it jumps and shakes a little like it's going to stall out than runs fine. Only does it in 2nd , any ideas. Its a 2012

My 2012 has 67000 miles. I have recently noticed a hesitation occasionally happening. Let's say I am coasting to turn 90 degrees at an intersection, after I make the turn I have it in 2nd or 3rd gear when I give it gas it completely hesitates such that I jerk fwd a little in my seat. Then it picks up in about one second, then I'm on my way with it driving normally. This has been happening off and on for the last couple of months. I'm not worried about it now, but am mentally keeping notes to see if there is a pattern.

Just curious - why did you post this in the modified section? May get more reads in a different section.

First one I came to, where do you do you think i might get more views. Also I'm assuming normal shift pattern. 2-3 thousand rpm. Sounds like we have same problem. Mine happens more when going from 1st to 22nd.

I've subscribed to this thread to see what others say. I would have posted in Stock JK Tech section.

Thats why I posted a question to see what others have to say , I'll try posting in the stock section tomorrow. I do have 2 1/2" lift running 33s with wheel spacers. Barricade bumpers with winch , but I can't see where that would have anything to do with my problem. Thanx for the help.

My 2012 only does something similar if I short shift it. I have 4:10s and 35s and I still have plenty of power pulling from a stop in 1st, but if I try to shift before 2000rpm I'm struggling like you describe. Heck sometimes it does it if I don't give enough gas before letting the clutch completely loose. If it is in the winter, do you notice your traction control going off? I have run into that as well going into an intersection.

Worst case, just check your air filter and try running a higher octane fuel for a bit in case you've been filling with bad gas.

I'll try a new air filter and I can try to fill up with 93 and see if it helps. I would say I'm always over 2000rpm when I shift out of 1st probaly closer to 3000. Thanx for the help.
