hi lift inside mount with locking device?
i have seen the bolt thru the roll bar and a mount on the rear fender wheel wells. my question is. how i can lock them so you can't haxsaw the bolt or the mount. looking for any ideas
i'll take a picture when I get a chance. I have the 48'' hi-lift installed on the rear cross beam secured with two ratchet straps. I happened to have a bike lock from specialized called the WEDLOCK that goes perfectly around the hi-lift and locks. It would take a lot of doing to get that sucker off. I'm not sure that that lock is still available as I bought it a couple of years ago. Do a google search for Specialized (that's the brand) WEDLOCK.

This is how I mounted mine:

I've since painted the 3/4" unistrut black--galvanized steel takes some prep to get the paint to stick, but it's solid stuff. If you go with something like this...be extra careful planning out where you're going to drill the holes in the bed rail--it curves underneath and doesn't provide much clearance for a nut. My jack's been mounted like that for months now--I'm happy with how it's mounted and the location.
I can get to my jack easily from either side (unzip the window) or from the back or the back seat. It's out of the weather and doesn't take up any useable space inside the vehicle. If I ever decide to relocate the jack to the rear bumper, the holes in the bed rail will be easily covered up with black plastic 3/8" body trim plugs.

Here ya' go! This is the best way imho 'cause it's totally outta' the way.
I got lucky too cause it couldn't fit more perfectly. I know it looks like you could just slide the jack out from the right to the left but the lock is tight around the jack in such a way that you CANNOT GET IT OFF (without cutting it).

Also, I found that if you turn the jack around the other way (experiment on your own) it fits much more cleanly and flush with the bar. Just beware you might want to put a few pieces of black duct tape on the roll bar cover wherever the jack touches it cause that stuff is really fragile. I have a few small tears in it from the jack.
