Hi-lift mount question
I got the Rampage (Quadratec) mount as a Christmas present. A few thoughts:
The lower mount is bombproof. No mods needed, although i did drill out a hole in the lower mount for a padlock. Hi-Lift already has the holes for this.
The upper mount is junk, but if you can fab up a mount that uses both upper hinge bolts in place of it, (the Rampage design only uses the upper right bolt) it works fine. I did it without welding for about 8 bucks using angle brackets from Lowes.
Using 2 setscrews on the Hi-Lift will keep it from rattling.
Unfortunately, I did have to cut mine down from a 60" to a 48" to avoid it from sticking out above by roofline. Branches/parking garages are no fun!

I have the Rugged Ridge Hi-Lift mount.
So far I like it, but I just had it for about 2 months so too early to tell how well it will hold up.
But - without hijacking this thread - how do you guys keep your Hi-lift from rusting?
