Default HighRock 4x4™ Slider Step

Anyone have information about this step?

Good or bad?

I hear somewhere in this forum that the step is too closed of the body, and the paint of the Jeep is damaged. What do think about that?

If you're never going to go offroad, these would be great - otherwise forget about it.

I don't know if the original responce to this question god deleted or what but i read this post and still am confused about the general opinion of these steps.

Admitidly, they don't look very tuff. But what i'm really looking for is some steps to help people get in (Jeeps sitting 6.5' higher than when i bought it) but don't want anything that is going to mess with that mid-clearence i've worked so hard to gain.

So how bad are these at being a rock-slider? Can anyone suggest some alternatives?

I would not consider these a rockslider, the issue your going to have with any step is, its going to be high off the ground and basically useless as step to get in and out.

A set of grab handles will help more than anything.

I don't think they would take any abuse whatsoever offroad. And somebody has to climb out and extend them. And the once you get it how do you retract them. Maybe if they were left extended all the time in town they might have some use. But I see the beating that stout rock sliders take and these won't take it.

How about hanging a stirrup from a point inside the cab that you could throw out and retract while sitting in the seat.

As far as I can tell all the structural support for the bar itself is that central shaft. Thats a single point of failure and I don't like that in my armor.

I've seen some electric powered ones that worked via linear acuators to motorize the step up and down but that to... I dunno, I'm not a fan of moving parts on armor.

+1 for grab handles.

I know a guy who carries around a little step stool for his GF (she's like 5'2") and he just throws it in the back when they take off.
