Default Which hitch is which?

Hi all,

I want a Class III 2" Receiver Hitch for my JK as I ended up with the factory tow hook, and that doesn't do me much good hauling a trailer.

I have been looking about at prices.

Mopar.com ~ $160 - Same thing at various Internet addresses ~ $129
(Who makes them for Mopar?... .....Midas?)

Hidden Hitch & Draw-Tite ~$100 kinda wherever i look.

I know Curt & Reese probably make them too, if not now, likely will shortly.

Does anyone know of quality issues with one over the other?

ask the dealer.. as my Unlimited came with class II.. (but infact it's a 2inch) as you're looking for. can they install the same Class II on your rig?

I am sure they could, but i dont want to pay $160 plus labor for someone to spin four bolts. I can add it myself, i am just curious about the quality of what is available.

Does anything stand out in the crowd as far better or far worse? A hitch should be a hitch should be a hitch... but ya never know, so thought i would pose the question.

I would ask around for somebody that has removed one for a rear bumper install. If mine ever shows up, I'll sell you my factory Mopar one for $50.

Thank you *L* I have been watching the for sale section, but they get snapped up pretty quick.

People mostly post in sale sections in the evenings, i am around mostly mornings. Things are usually sold before i get to read the posts.

The Hidden Hitch and Draw Tight are about the same thing as far as quality pretty decent, about $99 from Quadratec. Most things I have seen from MOPAR have been pretty weak!

I have the Mopar hitch. It came with the bracket to hold the 4-wire connector. When I checked the Hidden Hitch, it didn't come with the bracket. My Mopar is top quality. A breeze to install.

Default Hidden Hitch

I installed a 2" Hidden Hitch last weekend, Class III, was $99 from Quadratec. Its a breeze to install - less than 1/2 hour to take off the hook (3 bolts) and install the hitch (4 bolts provided). Had to use wrenches as there's not enough room behind the bumper for sockets. Everything lined up perfectly..

Im not using it to tow anything, but with 4 bikes on an Allen rack, the receiver was extremely solid... happy to rec the hidden hitch.
