Hitch VS tow hook??
My X four door is without factory rear tow hook... I need a receiver hitch for very light towing.. Can I use a receiver tow hook on the hitch or do I need to get factory hook..... The hitch and tow hook look like they mount in the same place so I was wondering if the hitch will be strong enough for recovery or will I rip the frame apart Thanks as allllllways.....
P.S. heading to tuttle creek orv park near randolph Kansas on the 19th and 20th if anyone is in the neiborhood
P.S. heading to tuttle creek orv park near randolph Kansas on the 19th and 20th if anyone is in the neiborhood

dont bother
stick your tow strap loop INTO the receiver tube, slide the receiver cross pin in place through the loop.
It is one of the strongest and most safe ways to attach a tow strap to a vehicle.
If you need a picture I can arange that

the pin is either in place or not, no shackles to undr/over tighten, most any "normal" strap will snap long before you shear the cross pin and there is no danger of it slipping off a hook
