Default Hole in Diff Cover

I was having some work done on my JK and I had the guys install my new differential covers while they were at it. When I got home the underside of my Jeep was drenched in gear oil. I took the Jeep back to the offroad shop thinking something had been installed wrong. The tech said he was not a big fan of the lubelockers I had them use and thought that could be the issue. He took off the cover and reinstalled it with the sealant that came with the cover. Since I did not clean the undercarriage the first time I did not realize that the diff was still spitting gear oil everywhere (I sprayed down the undercarriage with simple green and washed it when I got home). I met up with a couple forum members and headed to gulches this past Saturday. While airing down I saw the gear oil everywhere once again. I had brought my kids to watch the events they had going on and not to wheel very much so I was not too worried. On leaving the park we (OH9JK from the forum went with me) went and put in some more oil to make it home. When my wife took the jeep to the shop yesterday they were perplexed and reinstalled the factory cover they had saved for me. Once the cleaned everything up they they found a pin sized hole that went clear through the cover! Has anyone ever had this happen before. It was/is a messy problem. I prefer not to say the manufacturer of the diff cover as they were pretty good to me on the phone yesterday and I will be speaking with them again today. We put white paint marker over the hole and in the picture you can see the hole.
