Default home made bumper from bumper frame ideas?

id like to make a bumper out of that sheet of metal behind the bumper but i cant really think of a way to make it look good. does anyone have pics? id like to keep my tow hooks but it would look funny with the crush cans. any ideas? im not very creative..

I am pursuing the same modification. There are some pictures around, but search for Woods Bumper Chop, pic request: stock bumper chop, or any homemade stubby thread.

I'm just still trying to figure out if it is legal to have a stubby in NY before I chop my bumper off.

ive been staring at a pic i took a long time ago when i put my hooks on and i thought of something. how important are those crush cans? lol can i just hack it off and replace it with lights?

I have no clue. I sure want to lop those crush cans off and chop the bumper really short. I just dont know if it would be legal here in NY.

Or... I could find a local shop willing to make a steel plate to bolt on in place of the stocker. That way when inspection comes around, I just gotta swap them with 8 bolts.

i sort of liked the simple bumper that the tj had. i just have to find the time to rig one up unless someone on here already did it. i already caught hell from the dealership for adding all of these parts. the all drive bone stock jeeps. you should have seen their faces when i told them about how i added the pre runner and the grill mod.
