I believe I also prefer the right side of the bumper. I think it should look pretty wild completed...

First off, if you want somebody to see somethin good enough to give an opinion, don't take crappy pictures at night. Crappy pictures in the day are 100 times better than crappy pictures taken at night. That said, I think whichever side you choose needs to go all the way out to the ends of the tub. If it does not, you have exposed sheet metal and it could get trail damage. If the bumper ends extent the full width of the tub, that's less likely to happen.

I think the right side looks better because the straight edge on the left side looks unfinished.

One change you may want to make is to add add a flat surface to top so you can use as a step. It is a useful feature in many aftermarket bumpers.

And as Redneck said, unless you are looking for mid-width bumper extend it out all the way and take some pictures in the day.
It is hard to see the angles you laid out with such poor lighting.

It could get really heavy. How thick is the metal you are going to use?

Right side is better. Get that bumper up so there is no gap under the body! I think ORF rear bumpers can accomodate a 1 inch body lift.

Right baby Right!!!

Also some things to consider (since you are making your own bitchin' bumper)...

D-Ring mounting points
Circular cutout for a backing light or two (an awesome upgrade in my humble opinion)
Mount system for the HiLift...maybe a flat plate on both sides of the spare tire...one for a step and the other to mount the HiLift?

My 2c...

Happy Gobble Gobble Day!!

DEFINATELY THE RIGHT! but just a thought.... try shortening it so it ends up flush with the body instead of ending up flush with the flares!.....who knows you might end up chopping your flares or replacing them some day. then you have a bumper that is too wide. and looks weird! I am terrable with explaining things, but you get what I am trying to say right?!!
