Default Hood Latches

With season trying to change here in the already windy state of Oklahoma, the wind is picking up even more. I drive the highway 4 days a week to school, and this past week every single day I noticed the dreaded hood flutter. I had already removed the hood spring weeks ago hopeing that would fix the problem , but with the crazy wind gusts, it didnt do the job. I never knew these hood latches could stretch so much. My hoof litterally lifted at least an inch while drived around 75mph. I immediatly slowed down, but even 65-70mph it still flutters a good amount. 70mph driving headwind into 25mph wind and 40-50mph gusts everyday isnt working out.

I have seen a few different types of hood latches sold by aftermarket companies, but i am wondering which one will hold the hood down the best in your openion. Thanks in advance!

First of all, it is alway windy out there. Your telephone polls are curved from so much wind. I installed the Daystars on my father in-laws JK in Broken Arrow and it solved his problem.

you can either get the woods kit (very good from what i hear), the daystar latches which i feel may stretch over time but a solid fix for a while, or just re-create the woods kit on your own. i hate to take profit away from woods by suggesting the last option, but it might save some coin. oh, and if money is no option, you could always go for the drake latches. a bit pricey, but they look good and seem to be very solid (shown below)

The Dura Trails do a great job for this. My hood stays tight as anything with zero flutter:

Default Drakes for sure

They are a bit spendy but hood flutter is completely eliminated. I love mine and highly recommend

I haven't done it but I meet a guy at a Jeep show and he used two black zip ties. cost is less than a buck and you can do it today. If you don't like it then you can spend more money on the other fixes.
