I'd go with the Tuffy. I know a couple people who have had the Mopar unit lock up and can't unlock it. Also have seen a couple reports on the forums with the same issue.

If you need a lock, the Tuffy for about $40 can be installed in a 1/2 hour... unless you have a mesh grill insert then it will take a little longer.

Security is never an issue until something gets stolen. Then it's too late.

For me its important!! Compressor, lighting, battery and even my air horn is accessible through the hood. Its important to secure your gear and a hood lock is a cheap mod, specially compared to all the $$$ we've spent on other upgrades.

That just tells you that it's very secure!

But mine operates like butter.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts! I'll be ordering one tonight. $40 for a Tuffy, 1/2 hour install ... I can work with that!

Don't want to steal the thread, but is it possible to unlock and lock your Mopar locks without cutting mesh guards? If you have mesh guards anyways.

You'll have to cut at least the middle mesh guard. Take a dremel to it.....super easy.
