Lightbulb Hood Rack/Basket???

Ok so I bought the setup on the link below that included the bestop tailgate rack. Problem is I think it looks like a spoiler so I don't wanna use it on the back. I was looking at the jeep today and thinking of mounting the basket on the hood. It's lightweight because it's plastic. I was thinking obviously of mounting small things on it that wont obstruct my view.

To my surprise though, I can't find a single pic on the web of a wrangler with a hood rack. Can anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't? Other than personal preference on how it might look of course

Does anyone have a pic of what I'm looking for?

I once thought about placing the spare tire on the hood as some British off-road and military vehicles do.

However, if you look at how flimsy the Jeep's hood feels I am not sure it would hold the weight.

Then, going to your question. How heavy would be the stuff you would put there?

Another point: how tall are you? Even being above 6' like me you would have your field of view quite limited by placing stuff on the hood.

Then, also imagine whether the hinges would hold the weight in case you need to open the hood.

So, after considering those points I can imagine why people only place the high-lifts on the hood. ;-)
