Default Hood shutter fix

Has anyone installed the Kentrol Stainless Steel Hood Catch kit? if so, it did solve the hood shuttering issue? It appears to have a different material than the stock rubber band and the Daystar plastic retainer

I know some have installed the Daystar kit with mixed results, some have installed the zip tie mod with mixed results, some have added fuel hose to the hood gasket with mixed results and some have removed the hood spring with mixed results. So I am wondering about this other kit and its affect

Take the hood spring off. That'll fix it.

Black zip-tie: I don't know anyone that has done this fix that has mixed results. It just flat works and works well. The cost is low and if you don't tell someone they won't notice it on your Jeep. The Kentrol hood latch will probably work also but it will cost a little more.

In my experience Kentrol = crap. Their quality sucks ass. Like already mentioned, take out the hood spring, that will reduce the bounce by about 90%. The Woods hood lift system wouldn't hurt either.

The issue with removing the spring is that it has a purpose, tho its a great temp fix. The spring is to keep the hood up on the secondary hoodlatch to prevent it from flying up in case you left the clips off. Would be nice for jeep to fix this the right way tho..

I appreciate everyones comments on how they think the hood shutter should be fixed but that wasnt my question or the purpose of the thread. I was asking for a product review of the Kentrol product only. Only Nukeman came close but he seemed to provide a general statement about the entire line of products from that company, not the one I asked about. Though I do appreciate his comment. I want to know about that specific product.

I already have the Woods hood kit installed and did the "zip tie" trick. I consider the zip tie a temporary fix only. I do not intend to remove the spring as it has a purpose. The fuel hose contraption is also a temporary fix if you consider the OEM rubber bands inferior and suspect at best- which I do.

any one else try the Kentrol product???????

Talking

No one wants to try the Kentrol, because Kentrol makes crap.

Same with Steel Horse...crap.

etc.

even if it worked now, it would probably fall apart or soemthing later, who wants the hassle?

I ordered a set of Daystar Hood Wranglers...just now, ....so, thanks for reminding me I wanted to do that.

I just installed the Daystar latches, too, and they definitely fix the problem.
